Amber needs to be a full time part of VW going forward
Absolutely amazing
Fist time That I heard them play was on Saturday Night Live during the nineties, I sensed they would be around awhile!
So much hate in the comments! This is brilliant in every way! Enlighten yourselves
😁😁😁😁🍺
Absolutely my favorite non-Dead cover of peggy-o
Who is this violin player he’s phenomenal ?
If there’s no guitar solo it doesn’t count
Every brothers vibes
not bad but very simplistic and just sort of okay. the national did a much better cover. also this sounds more like the Simon and Garfunkel version than the Dead's version, which is also kind of a shame.
Absolutely wonderful! 🎶 Kudos for posting this gem! ❤️👍 The acoustics, voices and deep sound are enchanting!
Aweful
Let's go Mets!
Folk songs have long branches and deep roots - today Vampire Weekend have become the sun from the sky granting Peggy-O new spring leaves by making it their own. I am looking forward to the day when a new generation inspired by this version is credited for "Covering The Vampire Weekend song Peggy-O" :)
Respect from Slovenia.
I always kinda figured when Vampire Weekend were growing up they only had Grateful Dead and Paul Simon records to listen to.
Nice!!!
What in the actual EFF this blasphemy #wifeofataper #onthebussince89 #imissyoujerry 👑🌹💀⚡💀🌹👑
Dang that was really good ✌🏻❤️💀
Nice treatment of this lovely folk song. I think I have an old Simon and Garfunkel album where they sing this tune.
This isn't a Grateful Dead cover. For chrissakes. It's frigging awful too.
This scares me because I've never really got the GD, but I get this. EDIT: I understand now, not really GD.
Plus this is like 25% of the song
Not a Grateful Dead song but still amazing
Dead didn’t write this man. Hell of a cover but give credit ya know. Jerry would be frowning haha. Peace and love 🍄
How are Ezra and Amber both almost 40 yet could pass for mid-20’s?
Why the nonstop cricket sound in the background? It ruins this completely. SssssSSSSsssss
As a deadhead I approve
This is art. Well done. Jerry would be smiling.
No he wouldn't I can guarantee that @whitemoubtaingirl maybe out of laughter
Excellent version. Haunting, weird, and original. Can’t get the beat out of my head.
who is the girl?
Amber Coffman. (See: Dirty Projectors)
I’m in love
Whoa. Amber!
Sweet!
Literally MUCH better than any version than the Dead ever did. So, so well done
Isn’t it great that music is subjective?!
Ehh idk about all that. This is cool, but honestly I prefer the more beat-down, soulful, ramshackle way the Dead did it (especially in their '77 shows, but also the Nassau 1980 one is a fave).
Not even close lol. Lap time duder.
When did music become the Olympics?
Nailed.it. wow.. wow wow
It's an old tune, not a "Grateful Dead" cover.
Clearly their intent was that they were covering specifically the Dead version of this traditional tune.
Appreciate you all got up in front of a crowd and did something, but man, this isn't for me.
Amazing thank you so much guys. This just pierced my heart deeply . Oh thank you 😢
Bravo…
Need this on Spotify asap ❤
Fuck Spotify
Mother of hades this was/is incredible 😮
Phenomenal version!
Way to ruin a classic song
i thought it was awesome.....better than some of Jerry's later takes on it.
Mmm nice cover. I don’t know if this song was originally Grateful Dead, I think it’s a traditional song. I heard it first from Simon & Garfunkel, Wednesday Morning 3AM <3
It’s a super old Scottish folk song. Many artists have covered it, but GD’s is probably the most well known.
This is a cover of the Joan Baez version of that folk song which was also the version that inspired Jerry to cover it! Lots written about this song since like 1590?? Amazing what we passed down through oral tradition!
They got a hold of alan vega drum machine and vw used it for a grateful dead cover song wow thats why i love this band
* guess it would have been martin revs tho
Dylan song
Gotta get a hes gone vw version ezra if you see this
String cheese shirt ftw
This is actually pretty damn good
Inject this into my veinssss
Love it!!
